Our Company History

The Armstrong Insurance Group opened for business in 1972 in Pasadena, California with one Agent/Broker-Desmond Armstrong and a part-time assistant. The company focused on the Commercial Lines Insurance marketplace-Property and Casualty, Specialty Lines and Specialty Bonds.

Experiencing consistent growth during the early 1970s, the Company moved to Torrance in 1975, using its expertise to provide insurance for a wide spectrum of businesses based in the Los Angeles Harbor area.

During the 1980s, The Armstrong Insurance Group continued to grow and expand through a formalized plan of acquisition; specifically by targeting Specialty Businesses in the Restaurant, Timeshare and Resort industries.

Having occupied its own building in Torrance since 1985, the Company sold its building in 1991 when sustained growth and emerging business opportunities mandated a move to larger quarters. The city of Long Beach was selected for new corporate offices where we remained until 2003, at which time we partnered with a firm in Santa Ana for administrative services. We moved back to the Torrance area in April, 2008, and continue to operate as The Armstrong Company, Insurance Consultants, specializing in the Timeshare industry.
